We have movement!

Last Friday (8/22/08) at 17 week 3 days we felt our first baby movements. I guess I felt the first baby movements would be more accurate. I was sitting at a cross country meeting for Zach and felt like someone was lightly tapping (thunking more like it) me from the inside. It was super cool to feel. I have felt a few more since, but i have to be sitting or lying really still. Still super cool though. I know they will get more frequent and more intense. I can't wait until they can be felt from the outside so Scott and company can experience it too.

17 Weeks

Wow 17 weeks. We are almost half way through. Some days it seems to have gone quick and other days it seems to go slower. As long as the nesxt 2 weeks go quick, I will be happy. What's in 2 weeks? We find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I can not be more excited about this. Not only knowing what sex our baby is, but also b/c we haven't had an u/s since week 10 and I am excited to see baby again. Hoping everything turns out o.k. and development, etc is normal. They will also be checking for birth defects, genetic stuff (ie: down syndrome, etc). It will be an hour long u/s so it will be fun to see the little one for that length of time.

I added a belly pic for those that are interested. Hopefully it is starting to look more like I am pregnant and less like I am just fat. It also depends on what I wear, but it should "pop" soon. I am also still waiting to feel baby. They say the mom can feel them anytime between 16-20 weeks, and "outsiders" can feel closer to 20 weeks. At this point it's hard to tell whether it is gas or baby, so I am saying gas until I have a more definate way of knowing.

I am feeling good. A little tired some days, but I chalk that up to having to get up at 5:00 now to make the drive to Ft. Huachuca in time to not be spending all evening there. I like my job so far. My case load is huge for only being there for 3 days a week, but my boss is going to see what she can do about that.

We are having more trouble with the house. The new buyers are trying to pull some stuff (again). Hopefully it will all work out, but our lawyer is on it in case they try to be difficult. I mean seriously how many times do we have to do this before the house sells? The stress is driving both Scott and I nuts. Wish us luck and good karma on everything turning out all right (again).

Catching Up!

Just doing some catching up. I have been glued to the t.v. and the gymnastics all-around competitions at night, and doing all the last minute stuff to start work on Monday.

I am super excited abuot starting work on Monday. I have been been u:ber bored the last few weeks at home. Plus, I really like contributing to the income in the house. I am glad I had this time at home b/c it taught me that I don't want to be a stay-at-home mom. I think I would go nuts. I know kids keep you busy, etc. But, I am super social and enjoy interacting with other adults.

Other news the US Women won Gold and Silver in the Individual All-Around. I am so excited about this. One because they deserved it and two because it kept the under-aged chinese girl from getting Gold or Silver. I really hope they get caught for their cheating and their medal gets stripped and given to the Americans. If not Karma's a b!tch and it will come back at some point.

I want to say congrats to my really good friend Sarah! She just found out that she is pregnant and I am so excited and happy for her! She will make a fantastic mom :o)

Option period on the house is up at midnight, I am excited to finally have the house sold, and to move on. I really like our house in TX, but the one here is going to be super cool too. I just wish there was a way to make them build faster!

USA Gymnastics

For those of you that know me IRL, You know that I was a gymnast for many years. You also know that I still follow the sport religiously (as much as I have time for).

The women just won silver in the Team Competition (hope I didn't spoil it for you). I have to say I am a little disappointed. I definately think we could have won the gold if Alicia S. wouldn't have fallen off the beam, and fell flat on her butt on one of her floor tumbling passes. After the first Chinese gymnast fel and the others had major balance checks I definately thought we were in it for gold. Oh, well that is life I guess, but still disapointing.

I definately think that Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin have a great chance of going Gold and Silver in the All Around Competition on Thursday. They are our best gymnasts and Shawn is the reigning World Champion. We also still have even finals where we have a good chance of wining Gold on at least Floor, Beam, and Bars.

Don't get me wrong I am happy that we won the Silver (2 Olympics in a row), but I am definately bummed that we let the Gold slip through our fingers.

Stupid Headaches...

PLEASE GO AWAY!!!

I have had a headache since Saturday night. I know that I am allowed to take 2 tylenol every 4 hours, but I prefer to not take that much. Besides the tylenol just takes the edge off. This headache is in my eye socket...quite possibly the worst place for a headache. I have drank caffeine, water, eaten, etc and cannot get rid of it. I really hope it decides to find some where else to live soon. Or it may just feel better to take a hammer to skull (kidding, but that would even feel better than this stupid headache).

In other news...I get my scores back on my AZ licensing test to work in the schools today. Scott knows me all too well. He called and asked me to send me my number to look them up with so he could do it for me. I get so nervous with these kinds of things. I know I did well, hell i studied for 2 months, but even in college when I knew I aced a test I was still really nervous to look at my grade. I Love my husband, he's the bestest! The scores will definately be up after 5 p.m. but they said they could be up sooner. Keep your fingers, toes, and paws (if you have them in your house) crossed for us.

Did everyone watch the mens 4X100 relay last night? I will admit it I am one to yell at the t.v. and I was definately yelling at the t.v. last night. That was the colest swimming race ever. I am exstatic the U.S. won and it makes it even more sweet that it was against the stupid people who trash talked us, ha ha.

Men's gymnastics is tonight. Unfortunately I think the best they can do is a bronze medal. The women are tomorrow night and I am so excited. We sooo better beat the chinese team. That will be another yelling at the t.v. moment for me!

Current Craving: Baby Bell light semi-soft cheese...SOO good and Boomer will agree since I almost always share with him. He's too cute to say no to. Don't worry though Schwepps get's her share as well :o)

PASSED!!

I PASSED MY LICENSING TEST!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

Sorry I was a little worried about it. I knew I did well, but it's still nerve racking. yay!!! Now I can get paid back for the buckoos of $$ they require to get your license and I don't have to sit in a room with random people for another 3.5 hours again. YAY!!!!

New house contract

We have a new contract on our house. Please pray that this one goes through. We are currently in the haggling process of it all and are supposed to hear more this afternoon. I am so ready to sell this house so we can concentrate on the new one. I loved our house in Frisco, but it will be nice to put the mortgage payment into savings for a few months.

We are officially on the waiting list for the In Home Daycare by our new house in Vail. I am really excited I talked to the lady yesterday and she will do everything that we wish for Baby. And she is way cheaper than the "mass children" daycares out there. Here's to hoping there will be room in late march!

15 weeks & Belly Pics

Belly Pic Disclaimer: I had to hold my maternity tank top back (a life saver in AZ) b/c it is a little big so you could get the full effect ;o)

We made it to 15 weeks and I finally took belly pictures! I am in the stage where you can't tell if I am pregnant or just got fat :o( But, those who know me know that it's baby. I am getting excited the doctor said that between 15-18 weeks that I would be able to feel baby move for the first time. It will be a few weeks after that when Scott can feel it from the outside. I've heard it is a weird feeling, but I am looking forward to it.

Job news: I start on August 18th. I am really excited to get started and to start making money again, and I know Scott is just as excited as me. We can start buying things for the house and for baby.

My mom and I aren't talking again...Big surprise I know. I called on Monday to tell her I am pregnant and instead she yelled at me about things that hapened in High School and the early part of College. I was like seriously? This was about 10 years ago. I told her when she could let go (of past events and trying to control my life) and behave like an adult I would consider talking to her again. In which her response was to tell me we could text message each other weekly to "let one another know we are still alive." What a crock. So I will text message her and let her know she will be a grandma in January. That will piss her off more, but that was her choice.
