Rolling Over

We have a Roller!! Landon first rolled from his back to his stomach on April 21st. Well, 2 days later on the 23rd he rolled from his stomach to his back...of course when everyone had their backs turned to him! He finally rolled from front to back again today during tummy time! I am so excited he ishitting his milestones right on time...which Scott and I are really happy about b/c with his disorder in some cases (mainly the severe ones and we have the mildest one) it can cause a developmental delay. So, we are super excited about him being exactly on schedule. We have to watch him much more carefully now on the changing table and other places. Before we know it he will be rolling every where!

In Mommy news I came down with a Sinus/Upper Respiratory Infection 2 days after surgery so I am still fighting that with meds. My arm is doing great, and looks much better. I go back to the Doctor for it tomorrow, so we will see what he says.

In Big Brother News he turned 13 on Monday...please pray for Scott and I :o)

In Family News we are starting a Garden in our backyard. I am so excited about it. I have gathered all of the supplies we need and I bought squash, zucchini, corn, carrots, lettuce, spinach, peppers, and green beans to plant in our garden! My goal is to be able to grow most of my own veggies for Landon's Baby Food since we are required to make as much of our own as possible. I am a little sad that I cannot find seeds for Sweet Potatos, but I will keep looking. When we get everything up and running I will definately post pictures!

Finally, Congrats to our Friend Catina who had her baby boy, Joseph Timothy, last night. I am super excited for her and Landon has a play mate!

Surgery.

I had my wrist surgery on Wednesday morning. It went great, the whole thing only lasted 22 minutes. They didn't use any anesthesia just this stuff that puts you to sleep enough that you can't feel and/or tell what is going on. I went in for surgery at 8:15 and we walked out of the surgery center by 9:45, and we were home by 10:30. I was only interested in staying long enough for them to get my vitals, and then I wanted to come home to my baby boy. Our Doulah, Carol, kept him for us while I was in surgery. He showed her how he could roll over!

I am feeling pretty good. I won't lie I am in pain and wish I had a litle bit stronger drugs b/c picking up a 14 lb baby only irritates it more. But, Scott has been great at helping me and so has my MIL who is staying with us. I was able tot ake my bandages off today and take a shower. This always makes me a little queazy, which it did but it looks great. I have 2 stitches that are under the skin. I wrapped it back up after my shower so nothing gets in it that could infect it, and I just didn't want to look at it all day! Hopefully the pain will go away soon, that's the worst part.

In Landon news, he can now roll from his tummy to his back. He has only done it once, but he did it! I am sure with a little more practice he will be rolling all over the place!

3 Months Old!

Landon turned 3 months old on Sunday! I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by, it feels like he just got here yesterday. He is doing very well. He is almost holding his head up full time, he only has trouble when sitting up assisted or in his bumbo chair. He has become very good at scooting himself around his play mat and his bed. He turns pin wheels in his sleep. And today for the first time he rolled over from his back to his tummy all by himself! I am so excited he is meeting all of his milestones right on time, and I got to watch him roll over for the first time! Unfortunately Daddy was at work, but we sent him pictures ASAP.
These are pictures of our 3 month photo shoot! He wouldn't move his hands away from his "3 Month" sticker on his onesie unless I put him in his Bumbo chair!
Our new thing in our Bumbo chair is to push off the floor with our feet and throw ourselves backwards...A little scary for mom with the tile floor.

Starting to smile at me when he gets his picture taken!

These pictures below are the ones of him rolling over for the first few times. He surprised himself that he made it to his tummy, but then got upset b/c he really doesn't like tummy time and was having so much fun on his back!

Hi Mom! Look what I did all by myself!

Can you help me turn back over please? I was having so much fun rolling around on my back!

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny made a stop at our house this past Sunday. Landon got some good loot. His basket had pacifiers (gold in our house), some socks, and a new rattle! We also had Grandma, Great-Grandma, and our friends The Evans' over for Easter Dinner. We had a really great time, and enjoyed watching Matt and Daphne play Wii for the first time. They played for the whole night, it was very entertaining!

Landon's first Easter basket. The Easter Bunny left it on the Island in the Kitchen along with a basket for Big Brother, Zach. The Bunny didn't leave Mommy or Daddy out either they got some candy too!

Landon with his Easter Basket and all dressed up for church!

We also had our first experience with our Bumbo chair last week. He'll sit in it for about 5-7 minutes before he starts fussing. Practicing sitting up and holding your head up at the same time is very hard work for a little guy. Landon is doing great at it though...it will be really soon when he has his head up full time. I am also expecting him to start rolling from his back to his tummy any day now! He is half way there...he will roll onto his side and stay there for awhile, and then roll onto his back again. He can even roll onhis side and stay there in his sleep! I think we are going to have a side sleeper.

Surgery

So, I am the only one with a "major" injury from our car wreck. I had my hand in Landon's carseat w/ my wrist resting on the plastic that surrounds the actual seat part when we were hit. I always sit like this when riding in the back seat w/ LP...which is my permanent riding place until he graduates to a car seat that doesn't take up as much room in the car. Well the impact caused the tendon's in my wrist by my thumb to swell and they are now popping off a piece of bone that the tendons are supposed to go under normally. It is called DeQuervain's and let me tell you it hurts like heck. So I will be having surgery on the 22nd. I will be on very light duty with my arm for 2 days and then after that he said to just over compensate with my left side which I am already sub-conciously doing to avoid the pain. It will be local anesthesia, so that it good it won't make me as sick. My MIL will be staying with us for awhile and our Doulah, Carol, will be helping out with Landon and will watch him for us the day of surgery. Life just stays interesting at our house huh? At least the other drivers insurance has to pay for all of this...even Carol since we wouldn't need her if we wouldn't have been and caused all this mess.

Easter Bunny

I took Landon to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap yesterday. I was a little nervous that he was going to be scared by the bunny and cry so we couldn't get good pictures, but it was just the opposite. He just sat there looking at me like "Ha ha mom, are we done now?" We got a really cute picture, but unfortunately I cannot get my scanner to work, so I will leave you with pictures of him in his Easter Outfit (What he wore to sit on the bunny's lap) that I took before we left, just in case he was scared. I promise to post the picture of him on the bunny's lap as soon as Scott fixes my scanner problem.

He's becoming very good at looking at the Camera for pictures...definately a little ham :o)

He looks a little stiff in this one, but I love that the "button up shirt" under the sweater vest is really a onesie...much easier.

This is what we call "shifty eyes". He was finished with me taking pictures of him by this point. You can't tell by the picture, but he was rolling on his side and picking his butt up and then kicking his feet out, it really was adorable to watch.

Thumb Discovery

Landon discovered his thumb yesterday! He was swinging in his swing (one of his favorite things to do) and he was half asleep and I look over and he looks like his head and his arms are twitching. Well upon further examination he had discovered thumb and learned how to suck it, so he was trying to get it back into his mouth. So of course being the good Mommy and blogger that I am I took pictures of it for you. It really was cute...he didn't have a pacifier b/c he wasn't complaining so I figured he didn't want one...he found something that worked just as well!

SAHM that is me

Well since Landon does have this disorder I will be a stay at home mom until at least the end of next winter. His schedule, feedings, medicine, etc is way to much for people to handle, and he is not allowed into a daycare until the aformenioned time. So, I will be going back to school to get my MBA in Human Resources online while I am at home with Landon. It is something I have been thinking about since before I was pregnant. I do not like my chosen field of work, and I am really glad that I decided to work in it before spending 2 more solid years in grad school for it. So, I am getting every thing together and ready to start school in June. I am excited about it. It will be 1 class a month for 12-16 months. And by the time I get done Landon will be allowed in daycare and I can find a job much more easily...and hopefully the Economy and the job market will look much better.

In other life happenings Landon and I are getting used to our routine and schedule a little more. I am still completely wiped out from lack of sleep. I am lucky to get 4-5 hours a night. Poor Landon for every feeding except the last one of the morning I am having to wake him up as well. But by the time I get him back to sleep, and myself done running the errands around the house to put the formula back in the fridge, get his medicine in the bottle of food for when he has to take it next...yeup that's right he has learned to spit and/or drool his meds out the other side of his mouth so I must now mix them in a 1-2 oz bottle to make sure he gets it and drinks the entire bottle so we know he got ALL the medicine. My life is pretty hectic right now. And this does not include the 1-3 times a night I have to pump b/c with only being able to nurse him every other feeding I get engorged and wake up like I did this morning with my shirt soaked in milk...not fun.

I also currently ran out of one of the formulas in his mix of things that make the formula he actually eats (2 types of Rx Formula...can we say $$$, prescription MCT oil, and 35 oz of Breast Millk mixed in a blender...it's nuts). I have emailed the nutritionist, but have not heard back from her, so I guess I am just supposed to nurse him until they can get me some once I run out of the bottles of formula (I have about 2-3 in the fridge)...? I have no idea hopefully they will get back to me about it today. So, this is our Monday :o)

Cute Pictures

We are getting used to our more strict routine, and filling out mountains of paper work to be enrolled in all sorts of programs to help us out with all sort of things pertaining to our new found situation with Landon. I thought I would leave you with some cute pictures!

Landon hanging out in his swing yesterday.

He really loves his swing, and mommy does too. He takes naps in it frequently.
